Our client is a successful and stable manufacturing company located in greater Waterbury with a need for an experienced Operations Manager to help run our busy operation. This is a high-impact leadership position reporting directly to the President of the company, with continued opportunity for growth.

The Position:

Reporting to the President, the Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of the facility to ensure efficient and effective operations, with oversight of production, quality, and inventory functions.

 

Job duties include:

  • Production planning and scheduling
  • Creation of KPIs; monitoring and improvement of production metrics (on time delivery, lead time, waste, and efficiency)
  • Training and development of supervisory staff and operators
  • Maintaining safety and compliance
  • Maintaining machinery and equipment
  • Oversight of the quality function, working through and developing the Quality Supervisor
  • Inventory control
  • Continuous improvement, problem solving, and problem analysis
  • Resolution of escalated employee and customer issues
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of equipment and resources

 

 

About You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 5+ years Operations/Production Management experience in a small job shop environment.
  • Strong math skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Excellent time management skills, including ability to prioritize tasks
  • Basic familiarity with ISO 9001 compliance
