Summary: The Field Engineering Technician (FET) supports nuclear facility operations by performing field engineering activities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and plant-specific requirements. The FET will utilize Maximo software for work management, equipment tracking, and maintenance documentation. This role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a nuclear environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute field engineering tasks in accordance with plant procedures, standards, and nuclear safety regulations.
  • Enter, update, and track work orders, equipment records, and maintenance data in Maximo.
  • Support engineering teams in inspections, modifications, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in documenting field conditions, test results, and observations accurately.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering personnel to support project and daily operational needs.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with nuclear safety, radiation protection, and quality assurance requirements.
  • Support audits and reviews related to field engineering data and Maximo records.
  • Maintain and organize field documentation, drawings, and equipment logs.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training in Engineering Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience working in nuclear facilities preferred.
  • Proficiency in Maximo or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of nuclear safety procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Previous experience as a Field Engineering Technician in a nuclear environment.
  • Familiarity with work management, preventive maintenance, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Fieldwork in a nuclear facility, including exposure to radiation areas (with proper training and monitoring).
  • Must adhere to all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • May require shift work or overtime as operational needs dictate.
Certifications / Clearances:
  • Nuclear site-specific training or clearance may be required.
  • OSHA or radiation safety certifications a plus.
