JOB TITLE: Program Director

STATUS: Full-Time, Salary, Exempt

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

LOCATION: Residential facilities around Loudoun County, Virginia. This is an in-person position only.

Mission Prep Healthcare is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly organized Program Director to lead the day-to-day operations of our behavioral health treatment program in Loudoun County, Virginia.

This is a key leadership role for someone who is passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and high-quality treatment environment for young people and their families. The Program Director provides operational leadership, develops and supports staff, maintains regulatory and accreditation readiness, and partners closely with clinical and medical leadership to ensure exceptional care.

The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who can balance the needs of clients and families with the operational, regulatory, and administrative demands of a behavioral healthcare program.

What You'll Do

As Program Director, you will:

  • Provide overall leadership and operational oversight for the behavioral health treatment program.
  • Build a positive, person-centered, culturally responsive environment for clients, families, and staff.
  • Establish program goals, objectives, policies, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, supervise, coach, and develop Program Managers and other operations and administrative team members.
  • Lead and motivate staff while promoting accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and high standards of care.
  • Partner closely with Clinical and Medical leadership to strengthen program quality and the client experience.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable Virginia regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards, company policies, and other governing requirements.
  • Support ongoing Joint Commission readiness, quality improvement activities, audits, corrective action plans, and related initiatives.
  • Monitor program performance and regularly communicate progress, opportunities, staffing needs, and operational concerns to executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters, annual evaluations, and other personnel needs.
  • Establish strong working relationships across clinical, medical, utilization review, operations, administrative, and leadership teams.
  • Uphold client rights, organizational policies, professional ethics, confidentiality, and standards of conduct.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen systems, processes, team performance, and the overall quality of services provided to clients and families.

What We're Looking For

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Previous leadership or management experience in behavioral health, mental health, residential treatment, healthcare, or a related environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, solve problems, and maintain high operational standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with clients, families, employees, clinicians, and organizational leadership.
  • Working knowledge of behavioral healthcare operations, clinical and medical terminology, and multidisciplinary service delivery.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, accreditation, quality assurance, or Joint Commission standards is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with common business and electronic documentation systems, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required background and record checks.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company automobile insurance requirements.
  • Current or obtainable CPR/First Aid certification and required health clearances.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to work with computers and electronic systems; communicate effectively in written and verbal formats; sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; climb stairs; read and comprehend written materials; and lift up to 20 pounds.
