Job DetailsJob Location: Great Neck Elementary School - Waterford, CT 06385Education Level: 4 Year DegreeWaterford Public Schools has a vacancy for a team-oriented individual.  Waterford Public Schools is seeking a Bilingual (Spanish) Elementary Teacher at Great Neck Elementary School effective for the 2026-27 school year. The Bilingual/TESOL teacher plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements, including adherence to Office for Civil Rights (OCR) expectations related to identification, placement, progress monitoring, family communication, accommodations, and equitable access to instruction for multilingual learners. This role requires strong collaboration and leadership skills to guide school-based Multilingual Learner Focus Teams, support staff in implementing effective language development practices, analyze student progress data, and promote consistent systems and procedures that advance student achievement and language acquisition. The ideal candidate demonstrates expertise in oral language development, culturally responsive practices, family engagement, and instructional strategies that make grade-level content accessible to multilingual learners while fostering an inclusive and affirming school environment.
