Waterloo KPR produces fully cooked, ready-to-eat products, and operates six days a week (Mon-Sat). 

This job posting is for 3rd shift, working a general schedule of 5-6 days week from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.  This is a salaried position and starting salary will be based on experience. This position is also eligible for annual incentive pay of 5% (subject to approval each year).

Job Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. This includes repairing and maintaining the operating conditions of the machinery and equipment, and troubleshooting problems that occur in the day-to-day operation of the facility.

  • Performs work involving hydraulics, pneumatic electrical, and mechanics in general, as well as some welding.

  • Sets up, adjusts, and breaks down production line machinery and completes daily documentation, as required.

  • All team members are responsible for safety, including but not limited to, personal safety and food safety

  • Complies with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and reports known or suspected violations

  • Attends monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT)

  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or on-the-job training

  • Six (6) months of continuous employment within the last 4 years required

  • Must have at least six (6) months of mechanic work experience or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program (must be documented in the work history section of the application)

  • Ability to report to work on time and work full assigned schedule to meet job expectations

  • Ability to work weekends, overtime, and holidays, as needed

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all team members and management

  • Ability to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills

  • Ability to read manuals to repair equipment safely and to follow all safety protocols

  • Ability to record information using company-provided forms and procedures

  • Basic computer skills to navigate systems, perform data entry, and complete training, preferred

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness

  • Accountable to self and others

  • Ability to climb up and down stairs to get to/from work areas, work at elevated levels, various heights, and in confined spaces, as applicable

  • Ability to stand and walk up to 12 hours/day

  • Requires bending, stooping, twisting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching above, below, and across at shoulder level, and repetitive motions

  • Ability to work in an environment where extreme temperatures range seasonally from hot/warm (80-90°F) to cold (20-40°F), where conditions may be damp and/or wet, and concrete floors may be slippery in some areas

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 70+ lbs. below waist, at waist level, and above shoulder level 

  • Ability to flex/grip with wrists/hands and use maintenance tools

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net / beard guard, steel-toed boots, and gloves

  • Must reside in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.

Eligibility to Apply: 

  • Must not have four (4) or more attendance points for locations on an eight (8) point policy on date of application.

  • No written warning in the past six (6) months.

  • No suspension on record for the last twelve (12) months.

  • Priority consideration will be provided to Team Members currently working at this facility. If local Team Members are not selected, Team Members from other locations will then be reviewed for consideration.
