The SEC Reporting and Accounting Manager will be responsible for supporting the Company's financial reporting process, managing the monthly close for all R&D related activities, maintaining strong internal controls, and partnering cross-functionally to support the Company's operations.
Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of Form 10-Q quarterly reports, Form 10-K annual report, and other reports as needed.
- Manage the monthly R&D accrual process, including vendor outreach, meetings with internal stakeholders, accrual and prepaid analysis, preparation of supporting schedules.
- Review and prepare complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules related to clinical trial expense, CMC and manufacturing activities, preclinical activities and collaboration agreements.
- Partner with the Controller on the review and assessment of technical accounting matters and new accounting standards under U.S. GAAP, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Support quarterly and annual audit activities.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance with SOX
- Partner closely with FP&A, Legal, Human Resources, Clinical Operations, and other departments to support business initiatives and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with SEC reporting activities, including preparation of supporting schedules and disclosures, as applicable.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency through automation and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to work onsite in Watertown, MA up to 3 days per week as required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
- CPA license preferred
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Experience supporting SOX compliance and internal control environments
- Experience managing month-end close and financial statement preparation
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system
- Experience with Condor or similar clinical trial accrual system a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions

The salary range posted describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Actual salary may vary based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Base Salary Range:$150,994.91-$158,665.32
