Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job Description
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will assist in delivering generated invoices to customers regularly through various channels such as mail, email, and customer portals. This role involves contacting customers regarding past due invoices, handling customer inquiries or complaints, and maintaining accurate records of all correspondence.
Responsibilities
- Contact customers for all past due invoices and manage incoming calls from customers with questions or complaints.
- Record all customer correspondence and maintain close relationships to achieve collection goals.
- Research individual invoices against manual files or pre-arranged customer agreements as necessary.
- Communicate with account managers, business centers, or higher management regarding accounts deemed uncollectible.
- Perform summary billings for a predefined list of customers using Excel and various reporting tools.
- Prepare custom invoices according to customer requirements and prepare credit notes with required approvals.
- Maintain a delinquency rate of 5% or less and ensure unapplied cash is aged no more than 30 days, clearing all by the fiscal month's end.
- Assist in ad hoc projects as needed and embrace continuous improvement by analyzing processes and suggesting enhancements.
- Collaborate effectively with both local personnel and remote teams.
Essential Skills
- 1+ year experience with collections
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and general computer systems
- Two years of accounts receivable or similar experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in finance or collections is nice to have
- Knowledge of relevant accounting software is a plus
Work Environment
The work environment is hybrid, with in-office work required only on Wednesdays. The rest of the week offers flexibility to work remotely, allowing for a balance between collaboration and independent work. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Watertown, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
