Job Description Summary:

This position will offer technical advice to achieve best management practice in hatchery management and incubation.

Job Description:

This role will focus on providing world class Incubation and Hatchery technical guidance to Aviagen customers and internal constituents.

To achieve the role's primary objective, the individual will routinely work in the following areas:
Priority Setting in co-operation with the Hatchery Specialist team.
Design, organize, carry out and report commercially relevant trials which explore aspects of egg handling, incubation and chick handling to improve Aviagen's understanding of genotype x environment interactions in incubation
Advise customers regarding egg handling, incubation and hatchery management to optimize chick output, chick quality and broiler performance
Partner with business teams to deliver training for customers and colleagues in incubation and hatchery management with the goal of enhancing the implementation of best practices.
Publish technical articles for internal and external audiences.
Develop and promote positive relationships with colleagues by coordinating priorities and projects across customer and internal teams.
Remain relevant regarding research, innovation and break-through technology in the area of incubation and hatchery management worldwide

Job Qualifications:

Work Experience
Prior experience in planning and implementing trials and scientific analysis
Practical experience with incubation
Experience of poultry management practice. Experience in international environment with exposure to multi-generation through to commercial broiler level is desirable

Skills/ Competencies
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop and promote positive relationships.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate scientific data in a commercial context and generate clear and practical recommendations
Exceptional analytical skills
Comfortable with leveraging Microsoft Office suite of products in daily work.
Travel
This role requires significant and routine travel - up to 50% per year.

Must be able to travel to Canada and within the U.S
