Deliver strong customer service by greeting and assisting clients and visitors. Communicate concerns and resolution needs with the Coordinator and/or Executive Director. Job Knowledge and Comprehension: Triage and/or identify critically ill clients seeking addiction and mental health services for Behavioral Health staff. Perform cashiering and clerical duties with minimal supervision. Schedule and confirm appointments; coordinate calendars; prepare, collate, and mail appointment notices; and collect fees. Maintain appropriate safeguards and regulate access to client information to ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and ePHI requirements. Maintain competency in new and evolving technologies and job-related systems (e.g., software, equipment). Demonstrate the ability to de-escalate challenging situations and appropriately resolve or refer concerns. Work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrate proficiency with computer applications and the ability to learn new software systems. Perform other duties as assigned consistent with non-exempt responsibilities. Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time and perform repetitive computer work. Occasional light physical effort is required, including lifting up to 10 lbs., and rarely up to 25 lbs. The role requires frequent use of hands and arms for reaching and computer work. May require occasional driving.   QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with a diverse group of clientele. Ability to type 45 –50 words per minute. Working knowledge of computer applications and electronic files. Possesses a valid South Dakota driver’s license and has a safe driving record.   The Board of Directors of the Human Service Agency shall have the prerogative to hire staff whose qualifications may vary from the above.  This position requires access to Electronic Personal Health Information (EPHI).  Current HSA Policies and Procedures apply.  It is the responsibility of the employee to read, understand, and comply with HSA policies and procedures that apply to protected information and security.  Questions about EPHI and HSA Policies should be directed to the HSA Security Officer.  Services provided by HSA will be welcoming, accessible, integrated, and responsive to the complex needs of people with co-occurring disorders/conditions.
