Description
The Registered Dental Hygienist is a dental professional who provides dental care (in person or via telemedicine), and is responsible for performing preventive clinical oral hygiene services, including placement of dental sealants, application of fluoride, and oral prophylaxis as well as providing oral health counseling on an individual and group basis and performs other dental services as defined in the NYS dental Practice Act for the practice of Dental Hygiene. Requirements
Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program, holds New York State Dental Hygiene license with current registration. Good verbal and written communication skills, commitment to practice of community oral health, especially to those who are underserved. Participation in seminars and continuing education programs to upgrade and maintain clinical skills. Current CPR certification.Â
