Job Title: Certified Instructor – Summer Teacher Training Program

Position Summary
The Certified Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality professional development to teachers participating in a week-long Advanced Placement (AP) training program or other related high school courses. The instructor provides expert content knowledge, models effective instructional strategies, and supports participants in developing the skills and resources needed to effectively teach their course.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a structured, engaging, and comprehensive week-long training aligned with high school standards.
- Provide participants with up-to-date course information, including curriculum frameworks, exam expectations, scoring guidelines, and instructional best practices.
- Model effective teaching techniques and facilitate hands-on activities, discussions, and collaborative learning.
- Share classroom-ready resources, sample syllabi, lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials.
- Offer constructive feedback and individualized guidance to participants with varying levels of teaching experience.
- Maintain a supportive, professional, and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicate daily schedule, expectations, and program updates to participants.
- Complete all required administrative tasks—including attendance, evaluations, and reporting—in a timely manner.
- Represent TEC professionally and uphold all program policies and protocols.
Qualifications
- Must be a College Board–endorsed AP Summer Institute (APSI) Consultant or certified instructor for a high-school level course.
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching the relevant course at the high school level.
- Prior experience presenting professional development or leading teacher training sessions strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to engage adult learners and support a range of teaching backgrounds.
- Commitment to maintaining a productive, positive learning atmosphere.
Work Schedule & Compensation
- One-week summer assignment; specific dates to be determined by TEC.
- Daily instructional hours typically include morning and afternoon sessions, with preparation time as needed.
- Compensation is paid as a contracted service through the TEC seasonal hiring process.
