Description

Summit Truck Bodies LLC, a quality manufacturer of custom designed service and lube truck bodies, is expanding its workforce due to increasing sales. If you are a motivated team player who is committed to producing a high-quality product on time and safely, we want you on our team! Summit Truck Bodies is looking for a Draftsman Estimator to create sales drawings and cost estimates for part sales and other projects. They will use CAD software to produce detailed blueprints and then analyze those plans to determine material, labor, and other costs associated with various projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Preparing cost estimates for sales department based on existing and new part designs.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of material costs, labor rates, and other cost factors.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


Requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, copier machine and other office equipment.
  • Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to receive and analyze data and input into the computer.
  • Requires working occasionally in areas that are not ventilated or air-conditioned
  • Requires working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations.
  • Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.


REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in drafting, engineering or a related field.
  • Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing.
  • Proven experience in estimating and drafting for manufacturing and/or construction projects.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculations.
  • Attention to detail and precision in creating technical drawings.
  • Highly proficient in working with spreadsheets to analyze data, create formulas, build reports and manage project tracking.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Professional, responsible and customer oriented at all times.
  • Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
