Iroquois Memorial Hospital and Resident Home is a vital rural healthcare provider serving all of Iroquois and portions of Ford, Livingston and Vermilion counties in Illinois, and Newton County in Indiana. Founded in 1916, the organization is committed to providing cost-efficient, high-quality, and consumer-responsive healthcare services. As a cornerstone of local healthcare and the largest employer in Iroquois County, we support approximately 350 employees dedicated to serving their community. Our facilities include a 35-bed skilled nursing facility, known as the Iroquois Resident Home, which provides comprehensive long-term care and rehabilitation services.

Role Summary

The Director of Nursing (DON) oversees all nursing care and clinical operations within the Resident Home. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of resident care, safety, and strict regulatory compliance within the skilled nursing facility. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Nursing Operations: Oversee daily clinical operations, manage nursing budgets, and ensure appropriate staffing and resource allocation to meet resident needs.

  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to State of Illinois and federal long-term care regulations. Lead survey readiness efforts and maintain Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) standards.

  • Staff Management: Direct the recruitment, retention, and professional development of the nursing team. Conduct performance reviews and provide mentorship to ensure a high-performing clinical staff.

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with medical staff, therapy services, and hospital administration to foster a patient-centered environment and integrated care delivery.

Qualifications

  • Active State of Illinois RN license in good standing.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing leadership experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of skilled nursing facility (SNF) regulatory requirements and clinical standards.
