The Laboratory Support Supervisor assists the laboratory operations in the overall supervision and management of support staff. The areas of responsibility may include central accessioning, secretarial, billing and outreach phlebotomists. Responsible for hiring and coaching, education, training, staffing/scheduling and appropriate us of resources. Collaborates with other supervisors, manager, and directors to establish and maintain appropriate level of laboratory services/testing and staff/competency.

Hours: Fulltime 40 hours/week
Required: AS within 90 days of hire
Pay: Based on experience, starting at $25.08/hour

Responsibilities
Communicates feedback from internal and external clients to Department Manager , Coordinates with the courier supervisor (Outreach Support Supervisor), the clinical section heads (Lab Specialists), and the evening shift Tech-in-Charge, to determine operational processes., Develops standard work for departments and implements new processes and programs to meet Laboratory goals., Directs workflow, and schedules personnel assignments to meet department needs with appropriate coverage to match volume changes and ensures staff adjustments are based on workload., Helps Managers formulate and implement goals and objectives for the department. Demonstrates problem solving and channels through the appropriate authority as necessary., Identifies process improvements for increased departmental efficiencies., Provides on-going staff training and in-services. Holds staff meetings and ensures quality goals are communicated, understood, and met. , Provides support and technical assistance to internal staff. Investigates and resolves discrepancies and issues internal to SBL patients including outpatient registration, phlebotomy and ED., Serves as a liaison between SBL Laboratory and its customers. Assists clients with questions and problems; researches, troubleshoots and resolves customer issues., Serves as the point person for staff questions and/or safety concerns on evening shift., With Manager’s guidance, interviews, hires, and evaluates performance of Evening Shift Central Accessioning and Secretarial Departments, including orientation, training, coaching and disciplinary action.Requirements
