Operations Intern

For more than 165 years, Gilcrest/Jewett has been known as Iowa’s “home building headquarters” and operates six retail yard locations, along with a truss and component plant, serving the Des Moines, Iowa City and Cedar Rapids metropolitan areas.

About the role: 

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic summer intern to join our field team and gain hands on experience in the building materials industry.  

Our internship will provide the opportunity to work with us within our field operations team, As a summer intern, you will participate in a paid program with hands on experience to work on real-world projects, collaborate with industry leaders, and develop valuable skills for your future career!

Education and Requirements: 

• Currently enrolled or recent graduate in an undergraduate degree program 
• Excellent communication & organization skills 
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
• High attention to detail 
• Self-motivated 
• Time management skills  
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple tasks  
• Strong interest in the building materials field  

Schedule: 

• Up to 40 hours per week 
• May 27 through August 14

Compensation:  

• Undergrads: $18.00 - $24.00 / hour 
• Graduate / MBA: $24.00 - $30.00 / hour
