Join AmeriCorps as a Health Educator with a focus in Health Promotions at Erie Family Health Centers. This full-time service year opportunity supports health education, chronic disease prevention, patient engagement, and HIV-focused outreach through the Lending Hands for Life program. Members gain hands-on experience in community health while making a meaningful impact on underserved communities.  AmeriCorps Member Benefits  Living allowance of up to $30,000  Segal Education Award upon successful completion of service  Fully covered healthcare benefits through AmeriCorps, if eligible  Childcare assistance, if eligible  Student loan forbearance and interest benefits, if eligible  Professional development and leadership opportunities  This is a year-long, full-time AmeriCorps position requiring completion of a minimum of 1,700 service hours. The work schedule for this position is aligned with Erie's hours of operations.    Main Duties & Responsibilities Provide one-on-one health education and self-management support to patients  Participate in community events, training, and AmeriCorps service activities  Support Lending Hands for Life HIV programming and re-engagement efforts  Conduct outreach and engagement for patients requiring additional support  Document patient interactions and coordinate follow-up care activities  Facilitate health education groups and recruit participants for programs    **Applications must be submitted by September 13, 2026, to be considered for full-time opportunities. Anticipated start of Monday, September 21st 2026.  QualificationsEducation Required:  High school diploma or equivalent. Skills and Knowledge Required: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with diverse populations. Current CPR certification  U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident. Ability to meet AmeriCorps background check requirements. Preferred: Experience in community health, social services, or related fields. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Experience with electronic health record systems.
