CNC Lathe Operator/Programmer

Responsibilities:

The position requires monitoring, set-up, and operating CNC turning machines to cut steel for the round tool cutting industry.  Operators must be capable of programming and setting up the machines without assistance.

 Daily Functions:

• Download programs and perform set-ups per print on existing tools
• Write machine programs for new tools using Fanuc control
• Keep multiple machines running during work shift unassisted
• Perform basic machine troubleshooting and preventative maintenance and machine cleaning
• Upon completion, perform quality part checks to print
• Make normal machine program adjustments
• Change and adjust tooling as required
• Achieve standard daily production rates
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills and Requirements:

• 5-10 years of machine experience preferred (Fanuc control)
• Able to read and understand blue prints
• Able to use measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
• Understand machining properties of different materials
• Effective communication skills
• Prolonged standing and bending
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
