About this job…

Nosco is looking for a Loader Operator at our Gurnee, IL Facility. This role is on our 12 hour rotating shift schedule.

 

As an employee owner in this position you will be able to effectively catch, inspect, and load lightweight printed sheets of paper on a high speed folding machine. While you demonstrate the ability to operate equipment at established rates of speed.

 

In this role, you will…

  • Operate available equipment to ensure production objectives are met.
  • Cross train on all finishing assets in the Bindery department.
  • Perform minor preventive maintenance/repairs, report any mechanical defects to Operator, Manager and Team Lead, and keep machinery in good working condition.
  • Ensure quality system procedures are followed at all times.
  • Ensure department meets all needs for customer satisfaction including OTD.

Success factors…

  • Preferably +2 years of Bindery (literature folder gluer) or other technical skills operating machinery.
  • Experience with basic Quality systems and documentation.
  • Flexibility to work any shift and Overtime. Work in a fast pace environment with ability to adapt to change.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Physical requirements: Twisting, turning, squeezing, grasping, reaching, reaching over equipment, kneeling, crawling, pulling, extended periods of standing, ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Long periods of concentration.
  • Speaking, hearing and vision are also essentials to performing job functions.

Qualifications
  • Motivated individual with good communication skills.
  • The ability to understand defects which may be encountered in the manufacturing of printed and folded literature.
  • A positive attitude and good attendance with the willingness to work overtime on short notice.
  • Team player that believes safety must always be practiced and be a priority.
  • Good hand-to-eye coordination to feed or catch product in a fast paced production setting.
  • Accurate reporting in the ERP system and on other documentation.
  • An eye for detail will be critical for detecting quality imperfections during production.
  • The ability to make acceptable quality decisions while under production pressures.
  • Mentoring skills for training new and inexperienced members of your team.
  • Physical Requirements: Twisting, turning, grasping, squeezing, periods of extended standing, ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
