WORK ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

The Waukesha County Department of Parks and Land Use - Administration Division is seeking a Fiscal Specialist to join our team as we prepare for an upcoming vacancy. This position plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Waukesha County parks system, including two golf courses, two ice arenas, Retzer Nature Center, and the Exposition Center, as well as the Environmental Health, Land Resources, and Planning divisions.

The Fiscal Specialist will be an integral part of the department’s administrative operations. Primary responsibilities include processing payables, receivables, and purchase orders, as well as assisting with the biweekly completion of payroll for department staff. The position will also assist with reconciling cash, check, and credit card shift activity and monitoring select balance sheet accounts.

While strong fiscal skills are essential to this position, the role is about more than numbers and transactions. Our work directly supports services and facilities that contribute to the quality of life in our community. We are looking for someone who takes pride in providing accurate, dependable financial support and understands the important role our parks and public services play in creating welcoming and accessible experiences for residents and visitors.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements
1.    High School Diploma or GED.
2.    Three years of post high school work experience in finance or accounting.
3.    Post high school education from a recognized college or university in accounting, finance, business, or a closely related field may be substituted for the work experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.
