This role balances hands-on operational support with strategic infrastructure initiatives that enhance reliability, security, scalability, and performance. The Network Administrator manages network infrastructure, virtualization platforms, and server environments while ensuring systems are properly secured, patched, monitored, and documented. The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, capable of pivoting quickly during production-impacting incidents, and comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with operations, IT leadership, and external partners. Stewardship – Positive Organizational Impact: Responsibly managing technology investments, protecting company resources, and making decisions that contribute to the long-term health of the company, community, and environment Key Responsibilities Network Infrastructure Management Deploy, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, routers, wireless systems, and VPN connectivity. Manage VLANs, network segmentation, routing, and secure connectivity across locations. Maintain reliable connectivity for production equipment, print servers, ERP systems, and shop-floor devices. Monitor network performance and proactively address capacity, redundancy, and resiliency needs. Maintain detailed network diagrams and infrastructure documentation. Server & Virtualization Infrastructure Maintain virtualization platforms such as VMware ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V. Manage server hardware lifecycle including deployment, firmware updates, and hardware refresh planning. Perform operating system patching and updates across infrastructure systems. Support hybrid infrastructure environments including on-premise and cloud services. Security & Compliance Implement network security best practices including least privilege access and network segmentation. Configure and manage firewall rules, IPS/IDS systems, web filtering, and SSL inspection. Monitor for vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation efforts. Support cybersecurity initiatives and incident response. Assist in maintaining infrastructure controls aligned with security and compliance framework (e.g., SOC 2). Backup, Recovery & Infrastructure Resilience Oversee backup systems and ensure reliable data protection. Support disaster recovery planning and testing. Participate in business continuity planning for critical infrastructure systems. Incident Response & Operational Support Provide Tier 1–Tier 4 (P1–P4) operational support for infrastructure-related incidents. Troubleshoot complex networking, infrastructure, and system issues. Conduct root cause analysis following major incidents or outages. Coordinate resolution efforts with internal teams and external vendors.• Provide after-hours support when critical production systems are impacted. Infrastructure Monitoring & Reporting  Monitor infrastructure health and system performance. Report on infrastructure risks, vulnerabilities, and performance trends to the Director of IT. Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and system standardization. Qualifications Required 5+ years of experience in network and systems administration. Experience managing enterprise firewalls, switches, and wireless infrastructure. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing. Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V. Experience supporting backup and disaster recovery infrastructure. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in high-availability environments. Preferred Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE, VMware VCP, or Security + Experience supporting multi-site enterprise networks Experience supporting regulated or compliance-driven environments (SOC 2 or similar) Experience in a manufacturing or production environment Qualifications
