Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) – Radiation Oncology

We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Radiation Oncology team. The APP will work in partnership with Radiation Oncologists and the multidisciplinary oncology care team to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care across the continuum of cancer treatment.

This role will support clinical operations by managing treatment-related symptoms, conducting patient evaluations, coordinating care, and participating in treatment planning and survivorship care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history and physical examinations
  • Manage acute and chronic treatment-related toxicities in collaboration with Radiation Oncologists
  • Provide patient education regarding radiation therapy, treatment expectations, and symptom management
  • Participate in multidisciplinary clinics and tumor boards
  • Assist in on-treatment visits (OTVs) and follow-up care
  • Coordinate care with Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Nursing, and ancillary support services
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging as appropriate
  • Document care plans and patient encounters in the electronic medical record
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocols

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current state licensure as an NP or PA
  • Board certification required (e.g., AANP, ANCC, NCCPA)
  • Oncology experience preferred; Radiation Oncology experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Schedule

  • Full-time, outpatient-based position
  • No call responsibilities (or specify if applicable)
  • Participation in multidisciplinary clinic (e.g., weekly disease-site clinic)

Our Radiation Oncology program is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. The APP will play an integral role in enhancing patient access, optimizing treatment coordination, and supporting overall patient experience throughout the radiation therapy process.
