Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Product Application Engineer. This position is currently offering a Hybrid schedule and is located at our Waukesha, WI facility.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year.

What you’ll do:

This position is for a Product Application Engineer for the transformer’s marketing organization. The primary purpose of this position is to provide advanced technical marketing support to both internal and external customers, and be the primary Application Engineering contact for new product development for both single phase and three phase transformers along with supporting and leading transformer marketing initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A. Provide technical product and application support to Application Engineers, Product Specialists, Inside Sales Reps, Sales Agents/Reps and Customers. As required, serves as primary subject matter expert for all product and application matters pertaining to specific market verticals such as, Oil & Gas, Solar, Data Centers, or Utility.
B. Serve as a customer liaison for commercial support matters, including management of customer visits, witness testing and inspections and periodic customer alliance meeting. Gather customer intel during the visits and report back to marketing management team.
C. Serve as a customer liaison for all technical product support matters, including specification clarifications, test requirements, and product scope.
D. Support strategic marketing and product development initiatives through collection of Voice of Customer (VOC) data, analysis of product/application trends, and assessment of new product market potential.
E. Perform detailed specification reviews and provide input into transformer quotations per customer specifications, as required.
F. Provide pricing recommendations to marketing management and proposals teams, balancing business growth and profitability objectives.
G. Support development of marketing communications including technical presentations, training seminars, promotional materials and research and/or white papers for publication and presentation at conferences
I. Attend industry meetings and visit key customers as identified by sales management, internal management or as needed to improve the business.
J. Understanding of the production process, including test standards. Works collaboratively with engineering, quality, supply chain, and warranty to resolve commercial issues.
K. Application Engineering contact for NPD projects and will communicate VOC to NPD Engineering functions to ensure that our customers are receiving promised features and must have a commanding knowledge of all newly developed products to support training internal and external customers.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
Minimum 1 year of experience in technical marketing or engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Experience using SAP and a quotation system

Ability to work on time sensitive quotes/orders/projects, meet critical deadlines, and deliver commitments in a calm and organized manner
Ability to gain, utilize technical knowledge
Must be very customer and commercial centric
Proficient using MS Office tools
Knowledge of electrical distribution transformers and their components and accessories and knowledge of typical applications, equipment, systems and standards
