With the Support of the Quality & Compliance Manager, this key quality engineering role will be the primary representative for strategic compliance programs, ensuring internal partners and processes, and critical suppliers comply with U.S. government defense contracting requirements. This role will develop and enforce key aspects of the organizations quality management systems to maintain compliance, product integrity, and support operational team targets.


Ideal candidates will be Quality professionals with strong working knowledge, experience in defense & aerospace quality requirements, and experience developing bridge programs and processes for administrative and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with government contracting (FAR/DFARS/ITAR) requirements; strongest candidates will also have some prior exposure to CUI and CMMC program requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Program Quality Advancement & Support:

  • Serve as the primary quality representative between compliance programs, and the company’s sales, manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain.
  • Develop and maintain program-specific Quality, Manufacturing, and purchasing plans, procedures, and documentation, or records in accordance with contract requirements, and internal processes.
  • Create, refine, and deploy quality systems, procedures, documentation, and training that drive consistency and compliance.
  • Assist as necessary in risk assessments, gap analysis, and process audits to assess internal or external supplier compliance performance and identify or mitigate risks.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action development for internal or external compliance nonconformances, customer complaints, and quality alerts.

Federal Regulatory Compliance

  • Interpret defense contracts, Purchase Orders, Supplier quality guidelines related to DFARS, FAR, ITAR, and CMMC-related quality processes.
  • Develop, maintain internal processes, and ensure proper flow-down of requirements, specifications, procedures, to internal partners, suppliers, and subcontractors - including audit support.

Requirements

Required:

  • 2+ years of relevant quality assurance experience in aerospace, defense, or a high-compliance manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of aerospace/defense quality requirements and government contracting compliance standards (FAR/DFAR/ITAR/AS9100)
  • Strong initiative, with demonstrable experience in helping develop and deploy internal and external quality programs to bridge manufacturing, administrative, and supplier processes for compliance.
  • Strong communication skills, able to effectively translate and train on compliance requirements in cross-functional and collaborative environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in reviewing contract compliance documentation and assessing internal program statuses.
  • U.S. Person status designation

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or quality
  • Experience in a quality assurance role with exposure to hands-on inspection methods, Quality Control practices and documentation methods.
  • Some working knowledge of CMMC and impact on quality management systems, internal/external controls.
  • Previous experience developing and facilitating training that elevates quality and compliance awareness.
  • Experience with ERP systems
