Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Welder - 2nd Shift to join our team on Lincoln Ave. in Waukesha, WI!
The hourly rate for this position is $27.90 per hour + $2.50 per hour shift premium.
The core hours are 3 pm - 11 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

This position is offering a sign-on bonus of $2,000*, paid in two installments, less applicable withholding.

What you’ll do:
The General Welder operates various types of welding equipment for general repair work and production work. Â This may include patching leaks on oil filled units, repairing painted parts, welding radiators to tanks, welding on covers and repairing field returns.
In this function, you will:
- Fabricate rework on tanks and parts called for by NCR's and ECN's using available engineering information.
- Correct fabrication errors caused by mistakes on the Weidematic tapes or general errors from the machine portion of fabrication.
- Rework field return tanks and parts. Cut covers off using the air-air process or grinding stone when necessary.
- Use all weld fabrication equipment including oxy-acetylene torch, plasma arc torch, tig-welder, MIG-welders, stick electrode welder, stud welder, arc-air machine, iron worker, power hacksaw, vacuum pump, sabre saw, grinders, drills and any other special tooling.
- Operate various types of material handling equipment including bridge crane, jib crane, gas and electric lift trucks and manually operate hand trucks.
- Repair leaks on oil filled units.Â
- Weld radiators and lightning arrester brackets to transformers which requires some fitting and aligning.
- Put weld on covers to both Terra Tran and power units - giving them a pressure test using air and soap.
- Perform internal tank repair work with core and coil assembly in the tank with supervisor approval.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a one-year Technical Diploma in MIG and ARC welding AND/OR a minimum of one year of MIG and ARC welding experience.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
- No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Waukesha, WI facility. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Skills:
- Successfully complete Eaton Weld test.
- Ability to interpret prints, quality specifications, and applicable instructions for safety, maintenance, operating, and engineering.
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
