We’re proudly celebrating our 95th anniversary this year! We have a great opportunity to join our Sales Team at our Eau Claire, WI branch covering the Wausau, WI territory. The Outside Sales Representative generates sales, manages new and existing customer relationships, negotiates and interfaces with customers and suppliers, while adhering to company policies and procedures. They work cooperatively with inside sales, project managers, quotation specialists, and other members of the distribution team to grow existing electrical, plumbing, and HVAC customers, to create new customers and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas at the appropriate gross margin while increasing customer satisfaction. Outside Sales Representatives are subject matter experts on electrical, plumbing, HVAC products that are sold by JHL and understand the entire sales process from starting a quote through the delivery of the final product. And more!   Responsibilities Include: Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify potential clients through market research, cold calling, networking, and attending events. Qualify leads to determine potential business opportunities Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors through regular follow-up, meetings, and personalized service. Provide value-added service. Manage customer expectations and resolve issues to retain business Negotiate and Close Sales: Discuss terms and agreements with customers to close deals. Overcome objections and finalize sales Manage customer orders including writing orders, overseeing submittal, shipping, expediting, billing, and resolving any issues that arise Provide feedback on pricing, service, products, and customer needs Participate in sales meetings, vendor training, and collaborate with other departments to ensure tasks are completed efficiently Document sales activities by updating CRM systems and keeping records of sales activities, client information, and feedback QualificationsEducation High School Diploma or GED Associate’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred   Experience and/or Training 3+ years of proven sales experience in the electrical or construction industry, with an awareness of building and safety regulations Experience selling to senior leadership, project managers, estimators, electricians, technicians, and buyers within commercial and residential contractors. Ability to manage complex accounts Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations and to other employees of the organization Project management skills, including the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines Organized, strong time management skills. Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and collaborate within a multi-functional team Ability to negotiate deals, handle objections, and close sales with electrical products Ability to find and develop new leads through cold calling, networking, and referrals Math skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals A flexible attitude, detail oriented, consistent, tenacious, creative problem solver Self-motivated and self-starter. Perform assigned duties with minimal personal supervision Willingness to travel frequently - using personal vehicle Computer experience with different order management systems (Eclipse knowledge preferred) Wholesale distribution experience preferred 5+ years in customer service in electrical industry preferred Subject matter expert on electrical components highly preferred Business, finance and marketing skills are preferred   Licenses/Certificates Valid US Driver's License and reliable transportation Clean Driving Record   We are committed to providing salary ranges for open positions.
