Apogee Architectural Metals

The Process Engineer IV / Senior provides enterprise-level (multi-site) technical leadership and governance for manufacturing processes. This role sets standards, leads strategic technical initiatives, and ensures long-term capability across sites.

 Key Responsibilities

Process Development

  • Define and govern enterprise process standards and best practices
  • Lead multi-site or enterprise process improvement and new process introduction initiatives
  • Serve as top-level SME for core manufacturing technologies

Data Analysis

  • Analyze process and systems data to optimize process results
  • Design and implement process monitoring strategy

Problem Solving

  • Lead and support technical problem-solving initiatives with expertise in process and methods

Project Management

  • Support capital strategy, technology roadmap, and risk mitigation
  • Lead large scale, multi-faceted capital projects using good project management practices

Team Collaboration/Mentorship

  • Partner with segment leadership to align technical initiatives to business needs
  • Mentor and develop process engineering talent

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expert-level technical knowledge in area of process expertise
  • Enterprise and systems-level thinking
  • Strong leadership and influence skills
  • Ability to translate technical insight into business impact

Education and Experience

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
    • Strong Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
    • Project management (PMP or PMO) certificate preferred
    • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
  • Experience
    • 8+ years of process engineering experience
    • 5+ years of experience in area of process expertise
    • 3+ years of large-scale project management experience
    • Multi-site project and support experience preferred
    • Core area of technical expertise which enables the ability to develop, lead, and implement new products, processes, and technologies.

Work Environment/Travel Requirements

  • Frequent exposure to manufacturing environment.
  • Extended periods of office work on a computer and in team meetings.
  • Regional day travel is expected with this role.
  • Overnight travel requirements will be variable based on projects and business activities, expected up to 30%
  • Physical Requirements
    • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
