Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is hiring an Electrical Engineering Department Manager - Mission Critical/Data Centers to lead our Buildings Engineering Services team in one of the following offices: Phoenix, AZ; Albany, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Washington, DC; Lansing, MI; Texas, or Seattle, WA. This individual will perform duties in support of the direction and vision of the overall Buildings Engineering Services discipline. You will also oversee, direct and manage the work effort of assigned staff members.

 

From load analysis to development of complex electrical systems and an emphasis on green building design, Colliers Engineering & Design provides a full range of electrical engineering services that will improve functionality and performance in your building. Our electrical engineers are experienced in a wide range of projects, including power generation & distribution, lighting systems, fire alarms, security and access control systems.

 

We partner with clients to develop solutions that will improve functionality and performance in your building. The range of competencies includes voltage classes from 120V to 765kV, generating plant and substation design and implementation, substation equipment upgrades, relay and protection upgrades, Power System Studies, renewable design and implementation / interconnection, distribution system upgrades, water wastewater system designs, building electrical upgrades, and more.


Responsibilities

  • Reviews and manages operations to ensure the quality of the technical products.
  • Establishes effective long-range objectives, goals, and plans for assigned team.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Lead a team of electrical engineers and provide mentorship.
  • Provides technical and management leadership to the assigned team.
  • Develops marketing program in conjunction with discipline goals.
  • Advises and assists professionals in other groups when expert knowledge and expertise is required.
  • Manages activities so an adequate profit is earned on all projects.
  • Reviews monthly productivity and labor hour utilization-rates, reports and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Assigns projects to staff and schedules work.
  • Evaluate Employee Performance in accordance with company policy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required. 
  • 10+ years of professional experience as an Electrical Engineer. 
  • Experience with Mission Critical/Data Centers
  • P.E. required. 
  • Demonstrated effective leadership across large groups of employees.
  • Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, Revit, and AGI. 
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $145,000 to $209,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
