PEDIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER (FNP-C) FULL-TIME


ABOUT US:

Hope Health is a faith-based, Federally Qualified Healthcare Center providing quality healthcare to the Ellis county community.  We offer Adult Medicine, Women's Healthcare, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, Psychiatry and Dental services.

 

We are looking for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team and provide care to pediatric patients in our Waxahachie, TX location.  The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years experience as an NP in Pediatrics, be able to work independently, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients, including diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, prescribing medications, and providing patient education.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to pediatric patients.
  • Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician.
  • Diagnose and treat common acute illnesses and minor injuries.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays.
  • Prescribe medications as needed.
  • Educate patients about health maintenance and disease prevention.
  • Refer patients to specialists as needed.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Personal Job-Related Skills: Effective oral and written communications skills. Skilled in counseling and leadership and management abilities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing Program with national certification in an area of expertise.
  • Licensure, Registry or Certification: Current Licensure by Texas Board of Nursing and from a governing board for Nurse Practitioners.
  • Five years’ experience in pediatric care practice.
  • Technical Training: Current ATLS/PALS and BLS.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires full range of body motion including, but not limited to bending, lifting, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing, walking and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Scheduling may include irregular work hours, may involve lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds, requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range, may involve working through urgent and stressful conditions, may involve exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.

OTHER SIGNIFICANT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maintains confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis.
  • Provides service direct to patients while maintaining a positive patient relations/ customer service atmosphere.
  • Interacts with patients, family members, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Medical Officer and Medical Staff members on a continuous basis to insure the delivery of quality care and the achievement of organizational objectives.
  • Follows aseptic procedures and procedures for using precautions when involved in direct patient contact or handling potentially infectious materials.
  • Follows the safety policies and guidelines for the clinic.
  • Participates in the Health Center’s QA/PI and Compliance programs and processes.
