Job Description:  The Engagement Specialist will assist with linking individuals to services via gathering demographic information, assisting with the scheduling of intake and ongoing appointments, orienting client and operating telehealth equipment, educating individuals about services and providing follow-up to ensure successful entry into services. The Engagement Specialist will engage with clients to work through barriers to receiving treatment. Additionally, staff will work to engage individuals who have missed appointments and assist to remove barriers and reengage in recovery treatment services. This is a 2-year DBHDD Opioid Trust funded position. Ends December 2026.

 

Job Responsibilities:  Will work Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM. Will work 2 days/week at a satellite office in Pierce County and 3 days/week at the Family Justice Center in Ware County.

 

Competencies: Knowledge of general office procedures. Knowledge of agency confidentiality policies. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to determine customer’s issues and handle accordingly. Ability to work with little or no direction. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

 

Required Minimum Qualifications:  High school diploma or equivalent and three years experience in a social services related position Or Associate’s degree in a social services related field and one year experience in a social services related position. Preferred: Certified Peer Specialist or be eligible to apply lived experience with a mental health condition.
