Position Summary:

The Advertising Manager implements the strategy, plans, and tactics required to create advertising concepts and campaigns that deliver results and meet Gun Lake Casino Resort’s objectives. The Advertising Manager will control budget expenditures, resource allocation, and project timelines for all advertising campaigns. Identify media channels and direct the placement of all advertisements and the development of promotional materials. They will ensure consistent and effective branding and messaging in all forms of advertisements. Additionally, the Advertising Manager deploys metrics and data analytics processes to measure campaign effectiveness and assess return on investment. Maintains awareness of the industry and competitive intelligence and recommends innovative and new advertising methods and initiatives. The Advertising Manager manages a team in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensures that projects, department milestones, and goals meet and adhere to approved budgets.

In this Role:

  • Manage daily operations of the Advertising Department, including, but not limited to, project management, communication, schedules, budgeting, team development, copywriting, community events, media buys, and creative direction.
  • Serve as a liaison between property departments, advertising agency, in-house designers, and coordinators for all marketing projects
  • Establish relationships with new and existing vendors while negotiating the best price points.
  • Establish relationships with the local community and media.
  • Generate purchase orders and work with vendors to ensure all projects are on time and within budget.
  • Create campaigns for a variety of Marketing, and interdepartmental requests.
  • Development of direct mail, on-property signage, advertising, online, and social media campaigns 
  • Lead an in-house advertising team consisting of graphic artists, marketing specialists, and a community relations specialist.  
  • Assist in marketing, promotions, and community relations events as needed, both on and off property.
  • Assists the marketing department in developing, implementing, and coordinating gaming-related approved promotions, events, and tournaments.
  • Disseminate information regarding marketing promotions and events to internal and external.
  • Ensures all marketing signage is timely and in good condition; both printed and digital forms.
  • Ensures the proper usage of the company logo and brand standards ensuring that the property positioning is accurate for all marketing activity.
  • Ensures that copy and language for all casino media (Radio, TV, Direct, Outdoor, Online, Digital Marketing,) is accurate and correct.
  • Work to ensure that the advertising team is accurate in communication regarding both timelines and creative direction for all projects.
  • Ability to lead and direct staff in the development and implementation of departmental goals.
  • Experience managing mobile applications, websites, and HTML preferred.
  • Strong time management and project management skills.
  • Able to make progress and/or handle multiple assignments under time constraints.
  • Must have well-developed interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate both written and verbally with Guests, Team Members, and Management.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with a concentration in Business, Advertising, Communication, or related field required. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • Four (4) years of specialized experience in casino advertising, marketing management, or related with at least two (2) years of management experience required.
  • Work experience in the gaming or hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the advertising process from creative strategy to creative, production, and placement.
  • Experience with media planning, media buys, negotiation tactics, and measurement metrics preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license with the Gun Lake Tribal Gaming Commission. 


Physical Requirements:

  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment. 
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, run, and climb stairs for the duration of shift.
  • Must have the ability to access all properties and areas.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Ability to read, write, and input data into the computer.
  • Ability to stoop, crouch and kneel.


Work Conditions:

Work is typically in an office environment; however, additional work areas may be unusually hot, cold, and/or noisy and may contain second-hand smoke. Tasks may be required to be performed from a sitting or non-sitting position in a confined area. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp.
