Behavior Specialist Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation to educational teams to teach and model socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement.
- Support educational teams in order to establish and enforce rules for behavior and policies and procedures to maintain order among students that align with the program guidelines.
- Employ a problem-solving process to determine a course of intervention as prescribed by the district’s tiered behavior interventions.
- Confer with parents, administrators, and educational team members to develop alternative educational plans designed to promote students’ educational, physical, and social/emotional development.
- Provide feedback and corrective strategies to educational teams as follow-up to applied interventions.
- Observe, evaluate, collect and analyze data of students’ behavioral performance in collaboration with the educational team.
Behavior Specialist Qualifications:
- Education:Â Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience:Â Teaching experience with students with a variety of learning, emotional, or cognitive disabilities.
- Background Check:Â Department of Justice/FBI Background Check (or equivalent state or national fingerprint clearance).
- TB Clearance
- Eligibility to Work:Â Eligibility to work in the US

Behavior Specialist Physical Demands:
- Environment: Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes.
- Activity: Frequent engagement in tasks such as reaching, handling, standing, walking, and lifting items up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Sensory: Ability to perform essential job functions with or without assistive devices or accommodations, including working in moderate to high noise levels.
