POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Renal Dialysis Social Worker is responsible for assisting dialysis patients and their families in dealing with personal, social, emotional, financial and environmental problems which result from their illness or treatment. Coordinates educational activities for employees in an effort to reduce stress associated with working with chronically ill patients; organizes patient/family support groups and/or activities to assist in coping with the psychosocial effects of chronic illness. The Renal Dialysis Social Worker-Master's Level is responsible for supervision of the Assistant Social Worker.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum requirements include a Master’s degree in social work; willingness to improve social work skills through a personal plan of continuing education; ability to use a variety of physical motions in day-to-day activity including standing, turning, bending, stooping, lifting, and climbing; ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time without experiencing fatigue; ability to accept responsibility and delegate duties; ability to access patient psychosocial needs and coordinate with other staff members; professional in relating to the other medical staff and other departments; ability to keep all information regarding patients and/or families confidential.

 

WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
