Substitute Teacher
General Responsibilities: To work in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, aiding students in their daily tasks, and helping ensure the understanding of the subject matter being taught.
Duties and Expectations
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Report to the school office to pick up required materials and assignment for the day.
- Â Â Â Â Â Carry out the program of study outlined in the lesson plans.
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Ensure adequate supervision to assure the health, welfare and safety of all students.
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of all students.
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Manage the classroom and communicate to students the standards of conduct expected.
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses and discipline problems to the appropriate authority in a timely manner.
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Take attendance in accordance with the school procedures.
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Be positive and respectful in all interactions with students and school personnel.
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Comply with the rules and expectations of the district and school.
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Maintain confidentiality of all information concerning staff, students and/or parents/ guardians.
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Perform all other related duties as assigned by the building administrator(s) in accordance with the school and district practices.
