The role you鈥檒l contribute: The Infusion Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of coordinated nursing care for patients in oncology clinics and infusion centers, managing day-to-day duties of the related clinical activities. This role demonstrates specific knowledge and clinical expertise in medical oncology and chemotherapy administration under the direction of a physician. The Infusion Registered Nurse exercises independent judgment within the guidelines of state, facility, and regulatory standards. In addition to these responsibilities, the role includes performing chemotherapy administration, assisting physicians, gathering information, collecting samples, educating patients, conducting patient follow-up, maintaining supplies, and providing consultation. This position also requires the Infusion Registered Nurse to assist with patient flow in busy oncology clinics, oversee and delegate tasks to Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) as appropriate, and adjust to working in either infusion or clinic settings as directed by management.聽

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintains accurate nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, vital signs, responses, and assessment of changes.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Communicates effectively with front office staff to coordinate patient care.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility with minimal supervision.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Participates in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
