Position Summary: The Senior Project Engineer assists the Superintendent, Senior Project Manager, and Contracts Administration group. Based out of Webster, TX (Houston area) 

 

Essential Functions:

Duties vary by project, typically include:

 

  • Determine client’s requirements and translate requirements into an actionable plan;

  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned projects;

  • Review and submit materials and equipment as required by client’s engineer;

  • Create RFIs based on plan and specification analysis along with field input;

  • Ensure health, safety and legal requirements are being met throughout assigned projects;

  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project managers, construction managers, and craft personnel to assure project requirements are met;

  • Assure that all milestones and deadlines are being met on a project level;

  • Conduct regular meetings to ensure that safety, quality, schedule, and budget are being met;

  • Conduct safety audits regularly to ensure projects company safety objectives are being met.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, or related field, with at least 5 years relevant work experience;

  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects which encompass civil, electrical, and building construction;

  • Commits to providing a safe work environment for all employees and takes the initiative to stop unsafe acts;

  • Excellent organizational skills, time may be divided across multiple consecutive projects;

  • Ability to think big picture and understand long-term implications of actions;

  • Passion for looking for ways to improve individual and/or company performance;

  • Commitment to exceeding customers’ expectations and finding solutions for project challenges;

  • Ability to read and understand project plans and specifications;

  • Capable of performing detailed quantity take-offs for change orders, estimates, and material orders;

  • Ability to create and update CPM project schedules in Microsoft Project;

  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and Outlook);

  • Time will be split between field and office duties;

  • Up to 75% travel is required, projects are primarily within Texas and Arizona;

  • Construction management and / or Engineering discipline;

  • Clean driving record.

The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
