Contract: Cargo Mission Contract (CMC)

Department: Software Engineering

Timeframe: 2026 Fall

Part-time/Full-time, 20-40 hours

 

The Cargo Mission Contract program managers, engineers, and staff members provide cargo mission engineering and integration services for NASA’s International Space Station (ISS) Program and Artemis campaign. For more than two decades, the team has carefully prepared cargo to withstand both the intense forces of a rocket launch and the microgravity of orbit to sustain human presence in space. 


Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Hands-on lab and prototyping activities
  • Assist in software development by developing or enhancing software products.
  • Write code and debug existing code to ensure that the software runs smoothly.
  • Perform testing and quality assurance tasks to assist the team to make sure that the software meets quality standards.
  • Collaborate with team and participate in team projects gaining experience to team dynamics and project workflows.
  • Completes documentation on assignments. 

Course of study desired: EE, CS, CE, MIS or related field 


Specific skills and expertise desired (programming languages, technical knowledge): 

LabView, JavaScript, C#, C++, CSS/HTML/Bootstrap, MS SharePoint, GIT, MS Azure DevOps, SQL; Software Testing, MVC Framework, Agile Development Process Framework (Scrum). Other skills a plus: RFID hardware (Scanning/Interface Module, mobile app development) and 3D Camera (Scanning / Interface) 

 

Other general experience, skills desired: Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently after instruction is given.
