POSITION SUMMARY
The Buyer/Planner is responsible for supporting the procurement, planning, and movement of materials through the production cycle. This role works closely with suppliers, production teams, engineering, quality, and service to help ensure job/work orders are created, and materials are available when needed to support customer delivery, quality, and cost objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create Job Orders from project demand and issue materials
- Use job order material demand to place purchase orders
- Review supplier quotes to ensure pricing aligns with established budgets
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders
- Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with vendors on late orders
- Communicates effectively and timely through supply chain hierarchy potential risks and opportunities; Escalating price and delivery concerns/issues
- Resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, lead times and other important data in ERP system
- Manages inventory at both product and item level to achieve organizational goals through product availability and inventory optimization.
- Troubleshoots and resolves transactional/inventory/system discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution.
- Ensures compliance with inventory policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide inventory information to key stakeholders as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, & Skills)
- 5+ years of Supply Chain Buying & Planning or related experience preferred.
- Completion of, or in progress of, APICS, CPIM, or CSCP Certification strongly desired.
- Lean Six Sigma experience a plus
- Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI; advanced skillset preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to utilize data from multiple sources.
- Able to utilize ERP and Planning systems; knowledge/experience with Syteline preferred.
