School of Rock is a growing, passionate community dedicated to enriching lives through performance-based music education. With over 400 schools, and a strong internationally recognized brand, School of Rock is the largest after-school music education provider in the world. We put on shows to teach music. We are looking for a  Summer Camp Instructor to join us at our Wesley Chapel location.

Our Summer Camp Instructor embodies rock and roll in a positive way and is responsible for creating the most valuable student experience possible. This role creates a safe and inspiring environment for students to achieve their musical and creative potential and ensures that each School of Rock student has an exceptional musical journey.

Availability to work 9am-3pm summer camps for the full week (Monday-Friday). 
Camps are held the week of June 8 - the week of August 10. (can be flexible to miss 1 or 2 weeks)

Roles and Responsibilities 
  • Facilitate the daily activities of the camp and manage the progression of each student. This includes running a rehearsal room and providing individual instruction when needed.
  • Report daily progress to the Camp Director and inform them of any issues with any students, songs or casting decisions.
  • Help run the camp theme of the week by managing the students both on and off the stage.
  • Create an inclusive environment and manage student behavior. Camp Instructors should immediately report any major issues to school management.
  • Help get new students excited about joining a seasonal program at School of Rock.
Skill Requirements:
  • 4+ years experience teaching and/or working in a camp setting.
  • Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
  • Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Very strong customer relations skills
  • Resourceful and good problem-solver
  • Works well under pressure
  • Ideal candidate is a working musician (actively gigging, recording, or playing in a band) 
  • College level music training/education helpful
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
  • Good judgment a must
Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
