School of Rock is a growing, passionate community dedicated to enriching lives through performance-based music education. With over 400 schools, and a strong internationally recognized brand, School of Rock is the largest after-school music education provider in the world. We put on shows to teach music. We are looking for a Summer Camp Instructor to join us at our Wesley Chapel location.

Our Summer Camp Instructor embodies rock and roll in a positive way and is responsible for creating the most valuable student experience possible. This role creates a safe and inspiring environment for students to achieve their musical and creative potential and ensures that each School of Rock student has an exceptional musical journey.

Availability to work 9am-3pm summer camps for the full week (Monday-Friday).
Camps are held the week of June 8 - the week of August 10. (can be flexible to miss 1 or 2 weeks)

Roles and Responsibilities

Facilitate the daily activities of the camp and manage the progression of each student. This includes running a rehearsal room and providing individual instruction when needed.
Report daily progress to the Camp Director and inform them of any issues with any students, songs or casting decisions.
Help run the camp theme of the week by managing the students both on and off the stage.
Create an inclusive environment and manage student behavior. Camp Instructors should immediately report any major issues to school management.
Help get new students excited about joining a seasonal program at School of Rock.

Skill Requirements:

4+ years experience teaching and/or working in a camp setting.
Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people
Strong organizational skills
Very strong customer relations skills
Resourceful and good problem-solver
Works well under pressure
Ideal candidate is a working musician (actively gigging, recording, or playing in a band)
College level music training/education helpful
Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
Good judgment a must

Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
