Position Summary:
The Porter position is responsible for the general cleaning, sanitation, appearance, and upkeep of Wycliffe Golf & Country Club facilities and designated outdoor areas. Approximately 50% of the position is dedicated to maintaining the comfort stations located throughout the golf course, including cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, replenishing supplies, removing trash, and ensuring each location remains clean, stocked, safe, and presentable throughout the day.
The remaining responsibilities include general and touch-up cleaning throughout the Clubhouse and other Club facilities, responding to cleaning needs as they arise, maintaining supplies and equipment, and supporting the overall cleanliness and condition of the property. The Porter works both independently and as part of the Engineering and facilities-support team and must be able to effectively manage assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of assigned areas throughout the Club.Â
- Spend approximately 50% of the workday servicing golf course comfort stations, including cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, restocking supplies, removing trash, and reporting maintenance or safety concerns.Â
- Perform routine interior touch-up cleaning throughout the Club, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, restroom upkeep, spill cleanup, and trash removal.Â
- Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies, equipment, and assigned work areas.Â
- Safely operate a golf cart to travel throughout Club property and transport cleaning supplies and equipment.Â
- Work independently, manage time effectively, and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.Â
- Safely use cleaning products, chemicals, and basic janitorial equipment in accordance with established procedures.Â
- Coordinate with contracted cleaning services when needed.Â
- Maintain a professional and courteous presence around members, guests, and fellow team members.Â
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, damaged property, or supply needs to the Director of Engineering.Â
- Be a champion of workplace safety. Follow all safety procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
- Communicates and interacts with others in a professional, responsible, cooperative, and positive manner.Â
- Attend staff meeting as required.Â
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time.Â
- Outdoor work may include exposure to heat, humidity, sunlight, rain, wind, and other weather conditions typical of South Florida.Â
- Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, lift, and carry.Â
- Must be able to lift and/or move at least 75 pounds.Â
- Must be able to safely enter, exit, and operate a golf cart repeatedly throughout the workday.Â
- Must be able to safely handle and work with a variety of cleaning products, chemicals, and supplies.Â
- Must be able to safely operate basic janitorial and cleaning equipment.Â
- May work around wet floors, cleaning chemicals, golf carts, vehicles, maintenance equipment, golfers, members, and other activity throughout Club property.Â
- Must use appropriate personal protective equipment and proper body mechanics when required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Evening, weekend, and holidays may be required as job duties demand.Â
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Previous porter/janitorial experience preferably in Club/Hotel/Resort setting.Â
- Must be able to safely operate a golf cart throughout Club property and the golf course.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to take instruction/direction
- Possesses a genuine desire to provide outstanding member services.
- Possesses knowledge of housekeeping and cleanliness standards
- Ability to multi-task and handle various projects.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays, as needed.
