Position Specific Description

NextEra Analytics is seeking a skilled and motivated Product Services Engineer to join our growing team supporting the implementation and ongoing success of NextEra 360â„¢ (NE360), our comprehensive energy management software platform.

This role sits at the intersection of field engineering, software integration, and customer-facing technical support, requiring someone who can bridge hardware, data, and software to deliver reliable, scalable solutions for energy and industrial customers.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with SCADA/DAS systems, industrial communication protocols, and field deployments, combined with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, communicate clearly with customers, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous product and process improvement. This is an individual contributor role focused on technical execution, problem-solving, and customer success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end onboarding of customer sites onto the NE360 platform, from initial technical scoping through commissioning and data validation.

  • Configure and integrate field devices and data acquisition systems into NE360 backend platforms, ensuring accurate and continuous data flow across connected assets and sites.

  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot field hardware to project specifications, including inverters, energy meters, weather sensors, cameras, media converters, and reclosers, using Modbus RTU and TCP/IP communication protocols.

  • Travel to customer sites to support pre-sales technical scoping and system design, and provide on-site or remote assistance during hardware installations. Diagnose and resolve hardware, communication, and network issues through commissioning completion.

  • Coordinate hardware procurement and vendor inventory to support scheduled installations and on-time project delivery.

  • Serve as the technical point of contact for customers, diagnosing and resolving software, hardware, and application issues within NE360. Provide feedback to product owners to drive platform improvements and inform user acceptance testing.

  • Maintain installation, configuration, and troubleshooting documentation. Document root cause findings and generate periodic status and compliance reports.

  • Train field personnel on SCADA/DAS system installation and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Collaborate with software, product, and implementation teams to improve NE360 performance and capabilities, including contributing to AI-driven initiatives and process improvement efforts.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • 1+ years of experience in a technical role involving SCADA/DAS systems, system integration, or energy technology.

  • Working knowledge of Modbus TCP/IP and RTU communication protocols.

  • Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills with attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with energy management software platforms or IoT/cloud-based data systems.

  • Familiarity with RS485, fiber optic, OPC, or other industrial communication standards.

  • Background in renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, energy storage, or related equipment.

  • Proficiency with Python or similar scripting tools for data analysis.

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt or equivalent process improvement certification.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
