Position Specific Description

We are seeking a highly technical, business-minded Software Developer / Technical Product Lead to support the Estimating team within Engineering & Construction. This role will work directly with estimating leadership and team members to turn business needs into practical technical solutions across estimating systems, automation, data, AI, integrations, and digital transformation. 

The ideal candidate is hands-on, curious, and comfortable working directly with code, data, systems, workflows, and users. This individual should be able to understand estimating challenges, translate them into technical requirements, build or coordinate solutions, validate outputs, and continuously improve tools used by the estimating organization. This role is suited for someone who can bridge business and technical teams while remaining deeply technical. 

The successful candidate should be comfortable writing or reviewing code, working with databases, developing automation logic, troubleshooting systems, designing integrations, testing outputs, and delivering scalable solutions that improve speed, accuracy, consistency, and decision-making quality. This is a highly hands-on, execution-focused role supporting the Engineering & Construction estimating technology roadmap, automation initiatives, AI use cases, and cross-functional implementation.

Job Overview

Employees in this role will be responsible for defining and executing the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for critical products. You will oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market needs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Formulate and communicate a compelling product vision and strategy that aligns with NextEra’s goals and market opportunities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities and stakeholder expectations
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, data science, marketing, and other teams to drive product initiatives and deliver best-in-class solutions
  • Engage with customers, partners, and stakeholders to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure the product meets and exceeds their expectations
  • Lead Agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and managing cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality product deliveries
  • Define and track key performance indicators to measure product success and drive continuous improvement
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks related to product development
  • Provide regular updates to leaders and stakeholders on product progress, key achievements, and strategic direction
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
