Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical Surgical (Med Surg) team within a community-based hospital setting. This role is ideal for an RN who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across a diverse adult patient population.
The RN will provide direct care to patients with a variety of medical conditions, supporting recovery, managing acute and chronic illnesses, and collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic medical conditions
- Perform patient assessments, including physical evaluations and ongoing monitoring
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies in accordance with physician orders
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition promptly
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems
- Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other clinical staff
- Ensure adherence to patient safety, infection control, and hospital protocols
- Support admissions, transfers, and discharges
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New Hampshire or compact state)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (Med Surg or acute care preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple patients in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Medical Surgical or acute care hospital settings
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- BSN preferred
