Are you currently enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program and looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare setting? UPMC Wellsboro is seeking a motivated Respiratory Care Assistant to join our team and support our Respiratory Care Department.

Schedule:
Typical hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., as scheduled.

️ Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing respiratory equipment.
  • Support inventory management, ordering, and distribution of respiratory supplies and medical gases.
  • Help track and maintain respiratory care equipment.
  • Provide oxygen for patient transport and replace compressed gas cylinders.
  • Assist therapists during CPR and other routine/emergency procedures.
  • Maintain proficiency in hospital computer systems and explain tasks to peers and students.
  • Exhibit service excellence by responding to the needs of patients, families, and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Strong interest in respiratory care and patient support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

High school diploma or currently enrolled in respiratory therapist program. 

Must be able to lift equipment and or supplies weighing up to 30 pounds and push/handle equipment weighing up to 100 pounds. 

Access to medications is limited to the distribution of the medication to the Respiratory Therapist.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
 

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
