General Description

Under the direction of the Lead Electrical Panel Builder, the Electrical Panel Builder will work as an integral part of the team to complete the electrical panel builds. She/He will coordinate panel builds in accordance with the project schedules. Effective communication with the lead panel builder will be needed to build the panels correctly according to schematics while staying on schedule. The Panel Builder duties also include working safely and keeping the panel build area clean and organized.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. 

  1. Ensure focus on safety when completing tasks.
  2. Read and understand the panel electrical schematics and technical documents related to components in the panel build.
  3. Wire panel accurately to schematics while being detail oriented with wiring.
  4. Work independently while staying on task to complete panel builds on schedule. 
  5. Communicate effectively with leads on questions or concerns while maintaining a team atmosphere.
  6. Ensure all panels are wired correctly and within the panel build schedule.
  7. Keep hand and power tools clean and in good working order.
  8. Must be proficient with the use of power tools, hand tools, and measuring tools common to panel building. 
  9. Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor accurately and within the given schedule.
  10. Keep work area clean and organized.
  11. Other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to interact well with others.
  • Ability to use common hand tools and power tools commonly used in panel building.
  • Electrical Wiring and Panel Building knowledge, as well as strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously; attention to details with strong organization skills.
  • Ability to read Electrical Machine Drawings and Schematics
  • Must be able to be willing to go into customer sites and facilities that may be, at times, dirty and hot/cold environments while working on equipment and assisting with machine installation/wiring for the customer. 
  • Basic computer skills.


Education and/or Experience

  • Requires 1 to 3 years of progressively responsible related panel building experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • PLC and UL experience preferred.
