Are you a Wisconsin State Licensed Therapist who enjoys working with adolescents and serving your community? We are now accepting resumes for a part-time mental health therapist across our School-Based programs for our West Allis/West Milwaukee District schools and Westosha and Walworth County schools.

School-Based therapists work directly in the schools to provide intervention, including: individual and group therapy, education/consultation for school personnel, and family therapy as needed.

PSG/CIP is a multi-service community-based social services organization that fulfills its mission of helping individuals and families to achieve their greatest potential through dynamic, cost effective and innovative programming responsive to the needs of diverse communities.

Candidates should have an interest in providing services to students K-12 in a school setting. Those with experience working with schools, an understanding of family systems and the effects and treatment of children and teens who have suffered emotional trauma are also preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SCHOOL-BASED THERAPIST:

  • Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and complete formal assessments.
  • Create and review client treatment plans and provide psychotherapy in accordance with the treatment plans.
  • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in addressing family system, mental health, parenting, and alcohol/drug issues through individual, family, or group counseling.
  • Organize and facilitate structured group, individual and/or family activities.
  • Provide consultation to the child's school and school personnel as needed.
  • Coordinate services and maintain communication with all service providers involved with the clients.

LOCATION AND HOURS: Position is based at assigned school locations within West Allis and West Milwaukee area or western Kenosha County, Racine County, and/or Walworth County area.

Hours are flexible and vary dependent on the school hours but typically Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:30-5:00pm. Position operates during 9-month school year, with the opportunity to continue working part-time through summer months.

SALARY: $28.00 per hour.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • All applicants must possess a master's degree in clinical mental health, social work, psychology or other related field and licensure to provide mental health therapy in the State of Wisconsin; LPC or LCSW.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
