Perform a variety of specialized duties that support the operation of the Refrigeration Maintenance department in the Shaw’s Division.  Monitoring building equipment for safety purposes and repair.  Troubleshooting refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical and electrical problems, performing repairs, documenting solutions and making recommendations for further action.   
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
•    Make daily mechanical checks on equipment in the Mechanical Room, Roof, HVAC, EMS systems, refrigerated cases and walk-ins. etc.   
•    Maintain all refrigeration, HVAC, EMS systems, electrical, and mechanical systems and make necessary repairs.   
•    Performs preventative maintenance tasks, leak checks, inspections and records required information and maintain EPA forms and required documentation in both paper form at store and electronic in Corrigo and Trakref.   
•    Monitors preventive maintenance work done by outside contractors and notifies Refrigeration Manager of issues or problems with outside contractors.    
•    Responsible for troubleshooting refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical and electrical problems, performing repairs, documenting solutions and recommending further action.  
•    Maintains a high technical level in troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.   
•    Manage communications for service calls in a timely manner as required.   
•    Maintain current license, inspection, permit, and certificate requirements to meet all state and local codes.   
•    Operates EMS building controls and automation systems.  Fine tune operating parameters.  Adjust set points and schedules.  Fully understand and modify building control sequences that operates the Energy Management Systems/Building Management Systems.
•    Perform a variety of administrative tasks such as: ordering material and writing purchase orders, and data entry for work reports and refrigerant leak reports via iPad device.   
•    Perform all duties in a timely, efficient, & professional manner.   
•    Maintain a neat, clean and safe work area in mechanical room, roof, service vehicle, etc.   
•    Must be willing to work overtime on weekends, holidays, and after- hours when on call.
•    Responsible for reducing refrigerant leak rates at 7-10 stores.
•    Preventative maintenance of refrigeration mechanical systems at 7-10 stores.  
•    Maintains detailed records related to maintenance making recommendations for further action.
•    Collects and updates data and information and provides reports and basic analysis for the Refrigeration Manager
•    Reviews information/data and makes decisions within very defined guidelines, parameters, and instruction.
•    Acts as a resource to staff in work group and performs other related functions and duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education Level:  High school graduate or equivalent.  Graduate of building-related vocational technical programs preferred.
Experience Level:  Minimum of three years recent experience performing refrigeration service, maintenance work in building related trades.   
Skills and Experiences: 
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.   
•    Able to perform duties with a high degree of accuracy and care to avoid mechanical breakdowns.   
•    Able to respond to direct requests as soon as possible.   
•    Able to maintain proper neat uniform appearance of Company provided work shirt and employee provided clean blue jeans without holes or tears.     
•    Wear required Personal Protective Equipment as required including arc flash and safety glasses.   
•    Must possess proficient computer skills.
•    Must possess a valid driver’s license.   
•    Must possess an EPA Section 608 Universal refrigerant Certification.    
•    Ability to read and comprehend manuals, prints, and work orders.   
•    Knowledge of tools and equipment maintenance.   
•    General record keeping skills.   
•    Customer service orientation and sensitivity to diverse needs of coworkers, employees, and other persons contacted in the daily course of work.   
•    Ability to work independently.
•    Detail oriented, ability to organized, and strong analytical skills.
•    Self-motivated

•    Supermarket environment.
•    Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments.
•    Incumbents may use various trade tools, and other office equipment during normal workday.   
•    Job duties require manual labor and the ability to lift, pull, push,
•    Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.

Pay Transparency:


Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
