POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for providing a variety of paying and receiving functions, including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashiers’ checks, money orders, and cash advances. This position will also involve balancing each day's transactions and verifying cash totals. Additionally, the position involves performing specific assigned side-jobs and assisting other Tellers with a variety of duties as required. This position will ensure that members are promptly and professionally served.Â
IMPORTANT NOTE
The individual in this role will be scheduled to work at the Springdale and West Chester branches. Shift schedules are provided in advance. The rotation between branches is temporary and will remain in place until a full-time vacancy becomes available at one of these locations. At that time, the selected candidate will transition into that position and remain scheduled at that location moving forward.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Receives share deposits and loan payments in person or by mail.
- Processes cash advances, cashier's checks, money orders, and similar transactions.
- Disburses cash or check share withdrawals in person.
- Processes assigned cash and transactions and balances at the end of the day.Â
- Receives and processes payroll deduction starts, stops, and increases.
- Verifies transactions, monitors deposit amounts, and examines documents for endorsement and negotiability.Â
- Detects and resolves discrepancies promptly.
- Actively cross-sells Credit Union products and services.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
A high school graduate or equivalent.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of Teller policies and procedures.
Basic understanding of Credit Union operations.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Good communication skills.
Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
Good math skills.
Ability to operate related computer applications and business equipment including adding machines, typewriters, copy machines, coin and money counting machines, and telephones.
Good typing skills.
