Stantec is seeking a Senior Level Construction Engineer/Supervisor capable of providing construction oversight, contractor submittal and change order review, and technical support for a diverse team of engineers, architects, building officials, scientists and planners. 

The new hire should be capable of proactive project management both internally with staff, across private clients and partners, and directly with local, state and federal clients. The Senior Construction Engineer/Supervisor will be responsible for final delivery of products that are on budget, on time, and meet or exceed client expectations. The candidate should have experience in active, large-scale environmental remediation projects including hazardous waste excavations, handling, storage, transportation and disposal and tracking of contractor submittals for review and approval.  Also preferred, in-situ and ex-situ sediment stabilization, groundwater and surface water pumping, treatment and discharge techniques.  This role includes coordination with clients and clients’ subcontractors on deliverable timelines, facilitation of technical reviews with SMEs, and final confirmation of content and completeness. 

This position will be responsible for adhering to internal and client protocols for project reporting, continuous safety assessments, and assist with the mentoring of staff. The Senior Construction Engineer/Supervisor will work with other Stantec managers to assign staffing priorities and respond to business development opportunities. 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Providing review of subcontractor submittals in accordance with approved Remedial Design and Specifications. 
  • Providing review and comment on subcontractor change orders on behalf of the client
  • In field inspection of work tasks for completion and conformance with plans and compliance with permits
  • Verifying the completeness of submittals and change orders for review by the client
  • Managing the preparation of technical reports and presentations which summarize findings and work progress
  • Reviewing erosion and sedimentation controls implemented per the approved State and Federal permits
  • Coordinating Site monitoring, surveying and sampling.
  • Designating tasks and responsibilities to internal staff, as well as partners and subconsultants
  • Executing project management requirements including project reporting and safety assessments
  • Contributing to RFPs and business development.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
