Job Summary
Under the direction of the Department Director/Manager/Coordinator, the Bed Control Representative is responsible for the accurate, courteous, and professional acceptance of bed reservations from doctor's offices and/or ED admits for hospital stays in accordance with admitting policy. To work and communicate closely with the Nursing Supervisor, Care Coordination, as well as the Unit Charge Nurses to ensure proper placement of patients according to the level of care ordered by the physicians. To obtain the proper authorization and/or verification of benefits from most health plans/Medicare/Medical prior to patient's admission.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement:
High School or equivalent preferred. Some college or technical school preferred.
Minimum Experience Requirement:
Computer skills for data entry required. Excellent customer service skills required.
Minimum License Requirement:
Delivering world-class health care one patient at a time.
Pay Range:
