The Applications & Engineering Manager leads a team of Applications Engineers to drive technical excellence, project execution, and revenue growth. This is a player coach role—developing people while staying actively engaged in key opportunities and customer interactions. Success in this role means stronger execution, higher win rates, and deeper penetration within our Top 5/Top 10 accounts.

 Primary Responsibilities

Team Leadership
   •   Lead, coach, and develop Applications Engineers
   •   Set clear expectations around urgency, responsiveness, and technical quality
   •   Conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews
   •   Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Project Execution
   •   Oversee project flow from concept → quote → execution
   •   Ensure accuracy in scoping, quoting, and delivery
   •   Identify and remove roadblocks early
   •   Drive consistency in engineering and quoting processes
Sales Engagement
   •   Support and engage in high-value and strategic opportunities
   •   Partner with Sales on Top 5/Top 10 account growth
   •   Help position value-driven, engineered solutions
   •   Protect margin through strong technical and commercial alignment
Technical Leadership
   •   Serve as escalation point for complex applications
   •   Maintain expertise across key automation technologies
   •   Ensure solutions align with Ramco standards and partner capabilities

Requirements

Engineering degree or equivalent experience
7+ years in industrial automation or related field
Leadership experience in a customer-facing environment
Strong project management and communication skills
Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR).
